Hark! The 87th Precinct podcast

Well, this just made my day! Just as I am winding down to my last remaining reviews of the 87th Precinct series, here are a whole bunch of enthusiasts who are looking at the books anew in a smashing podcast – click on to read more:

Started in November 2016 by Morgan Brown, Paul Abbott and Stephen Royston (their mug shots are pictured left to right below), this site takes its name from the penultimate title in the 87th Precinct series by Ed McBain and is devoted entirely to those books. So far they have covered the first 6 books in the series, from Cop Hater through to Killer’s Payoff, coming at them from a wide variety of perspective. Here are their links:

That’s great. I’ve just started in on Killer’s Payoff as it happens so I’ve bookmarked the site and will be listening in on that and the previous podcasts as soon as I’ve finished it.

  4. What fun! Off to check it out! 🙂

  5. Art Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been so enjoying your series of reviews and delighted to hear about this series too!

  6. Paul Abbott says:

Hi! I’m dropping in to say thank you for directing folks to us and I’m really sorry we didn’t drop a message to thank you at the time. We’re 21 books into the series now, with a bunch of spin-offs and adaptations explored as well. Lots more to come! (And your blog is such an interesting and useful resource as well, thanks!)

  7. Congrats Paul, you guys are doing a great job. And thanks for the kind words. Happy new year.
